From April 18th to may 1st we hosted a team of volunteer medical workers, Doctors and nurses from Devon England who offered free dental care for people at Suubi Medical centre. The team worked very hard together with our local stuff in Uganda to do a very good job. This was our second dental camp run by the same team and from now this is likely to become an annual event. I would like on my behalf and on behalf of Suubi Medical centre to thank Dr Mitsh Badiani of smile star and his team for England for the amazing work they did.
We have opportunity at Suubi Medical centre for any one from any where in the world to come and share their skills in any form, we also have space for elective medical student placements if any one is looking for that.
An article was in the national press of Uganda about this camp and the work of Suubi medical Centre,Please have a look here.

To anyone considering volunteering to play any part in helping the people of Busu or patients of Suubi Clinic I can highly recommend it. I have just returned from a memorable 2 week trip to Uganda where I was part of a dental team of 10 volunteers. The local people were delightful, cheerful and incredibly grateful for whatever help we could provide. Taking teeth out with only a head torch for illumination was ‘interesting’ but it’s amazing what you can do if you’re determined enough! It was a very humbling experience for me personally but so rewarding. If you are interested in a volunteer project then I can honestly say you will have a great time here whatever your skills. Please don’t hesitate to e-mail me if you would like more details of our time at Suubi! Mo
